Obverse description Gold and dark underprint with intricate guilloche patterns throughout. At right, an intaglio portrait of Wake no Kiyomaro in traditional court dress; at left, a large ornate medallion enclosing the numeral '10'. A red four-character military overprint (軍用手票) runs horizontally across the centre, with the denomination 拾圓 in black above. The Imperial chrysanthemum seal appears at top centre, and the issuing authority inscription 大日本帝國政府 is printed in vertical columns near the top.

Reverse description Light-coloured ground with a central vignette of a Japanese Shinto shrine gateway flanked by trees, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. Two large ornate rosette medallions bearing the character 拾 flank the central vignette. A red military overprint (軍用手票) is applied across the design, and the denomination '10 YEN' appears in Latin script at the base of the central vignette. Vertical columns of Chinese-character text on both left and right margins carry anti-counterfeiting warnings and redemption instructions.
