Sark introduced the Xeros Ceros as part of a private currency experiment following the island's contentious transition to democracy in 2008, when centuries of feudal governance under the Seigneur finally ended under pressure from the Barclay brothers' legal challenges. This brass pattern piece was never formally circulated — it exists as a proof of concept for a local tender that gained no official traction.
