| Obverse description | Central motif depicts the Taedong Gate (Tongil Gate), the historic east gate of Pyongyang, rendered in fine relief with its distinctive multi-tiered traditional Korean pavilion roof and stone rampart base, set against a dark field. The circular legend in Hangul script reads '조선민주주의인민공화국중앙은행' (Central Bank of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea) along the upper periphery, with the denomination '10 WON' inscribed in Latin characters at the base. A small Hangul notation '련본' (specimen) appears in the right field of the gate structure. |
