| Obverse description | At center, the national emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is depicted in high relief against a mirror-polished field, showing Mount Paektu surmounted by a five-pointed star, framed by sheaves of rice bound with a ribbon bearing the state name in Hangul. The fineness indicator '999' appears to the right and '1 OZ' to the left of the emblem.
