Obverse description The obverse of this rectangular aluminium piece features the state emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea prominently positioned to the left of the field, depicting the Paektu-san hydroelectric power station framed by ears of rice and surmounted by a five-pointed star above radiating beams of light. To the right, four lines of Korean-script legend occupy the mirror-polished field, reading the country name at top, followed by the issuing authority, the denomination, and the Juche calendar date with the Gregorian equivalent in parentheses.
