| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a multi-line Persian inscription in bold Nasta'liq calligraphy reading the royal titulature of Mozaffar al-Din Shah Qajar, including the denomination 'Dah Toman' (Ten Tomans) and two dates (AH 1311 and the erroneous AH 1381). The inscription is enclosed within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a decorative border of alternating six-pointed star rosettes and small pellets forming a continuous wreath of sixteen foliate elements around the periphery. The mint name Tehran (طهران) appears at the top of the border, outside the inner circle. |
