Reverse description Central device depicts the imperial Lion and Sun emblem of Qajar Iran: a rampant lion passant to the right, holding an upright sword in its right forepaw, with a radiant rising sun behind its back. The lion stands upon a ground line above a small decorative floral motif. The central device is enclosed within a beaded border and framed by an elaborate wreath of oak branches with acorns on the right and olive or laurel sprigs on the left, tied at the base with a ribbon bow, all executed in high relief consistent with late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Tehran Mint coinage.
