Obverse description	Left-facing draped bust of President Saparmurat Niyazov occupies the central field, rendered in moderate relief with fine detail to the hair and jacket collar. A circular legend in Latin script runs along the upper periphery reading 'TÜRKMENISTANYÑ PREZIDENTI' and continues along the lower periphery with 'SAPARMYRAT NYÝAZOW', identifying the head of state. The overall portrait style is characteristic of contemporary Central Asian coinage of the early post-Soviet period.
