Obverse description Central vignette is a portrait of Şoqan Şıñġısulı Wälïxanulı (born Muxammed Qanafïya, 1835–1865), the celebrated Kazakh scholar, ethnographer, and historian after whom the Kazakh Academy of Sciences is named, rendered against a multicolour guilloche underprint with traditional Kazakh ornamental borders running along the upper and lower margins. The denomination numeral and issuing authority inscriptions appear in Kazakh Cyrillic script, accompanied by the dates of his birth and death.

Reverse description The central vignette presents an intaglio-style landscape of Oqjetpes mountain reflected in the foreground lake, framed by coniferous forest and rocky outcroppings, with Kazakh traditional ornamental bands in pink, green, and gold bordering the note at top and bottom. To the right, a vertical panel carries an elaborate arabesque scroll cartouche in teal and gold alongside the Kazakh state emblem set within a guilloche medallion at upper right, and a second smaller guilloche rosette bearing the numeral "10" at lower right. The anti-counterfeiting warning legend appears in Cyrillic script at upper right.
