Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a large patriarchal cross divides the field into four quadrants, each bearing Arabic-style floral or pseudo-Kufic ornamental motifs, reflecting the multicultural numismatic tradition inherited from the earlier Norman-Arab coinage of Sicily. Small pellets appear in the lower quadrants. A circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, partially legible on the irregular flan.
