| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Samoa is displayed centrally, featuring a shield bearing the Southern Cross constellation on a blue field, surmounted by a cross, and supported by two branches forming a wreath at the base. A scroll at the base of the shield bears the national motto. The legend 'SAMOA I SISIFO' arcs above along the upper periphery, while the denomination '$10' appears in the lower field beneath the arms. |

| Additional information |
Tanumafili II held the position of O le Ao o le Malo — head of state of Samoa — from independence in 1962 until his death in 2007, making him one of the longest-serving heads of state in the Pacific. The 1992 jubilee issue marked thirty years of that tenure. He was also, late in life, a convert to the Bahá'í Faith, becoming the first reigning head of state to formally adopt it — a fact entirely unrelated to this coin but difficult to omit when the man is this unusual.
