Within the enclosure, two large Chinese characters are prominently displayed in the center. A small ornamental dot or pellet appears at the top between the dragon heads. Reverse description The reverse repeats the obverse design exactly, featuring two confronted stylized dragons whose sinuous bodies curve inward to frame the central field. The two prominent Chinese characters denoting the denomination occupy the center of the composition. A small pellet appears between the dragon heads at the top. The identical treatment of both sides is consistent with this piece being a mule struck from two obverse dies.
