Obverse description Aged draped bust of Louis XIV facing right, with flowing long wig, rendered in the mature portrait style characteristic of his later reign. The effigy is finely detailed with elaborate drapery at the truncation. The surrounding legend reads LVD. XIIII. D. G. FR. ET. NAV. REX., with the date 1703 inscribed at the base of the bust. The coin is struck within a beaded inner border.
