Obverse description Central crowned oval shield bearing the quartered arms of the Duchy of Parma, Piacenza, and Guastalla, flanked by laurel branches and surmounted by a ducal crown. The date appears in the circular legend, which is rendered in abbreviated Latin and reads around the full circumference of the coin. The overall design is compact and heraldic in character, typical of late 18th-century Italian ducal coinage.
