| Obverse description | The national emblem of Somaliland occupies the central field, depicting a spread eagle bearing a shield with a balance scale, surmounted by a crown and flanked by two full olive or laurel branches with leaves extending to the coin's inner border. A clasped handshake motif appears at the base of the emblem.
