| Obverse description | Central device features the coat of arms of Somaliland, depicting a shield supported by an eagle with outstretched wings, surmounted by a scroll and flanked by laurel branches tied at the base. Surrounding the central arms is a broad band divided into twelve segments, each containing one of the twelve zodiac symbols in relief. The circular legend BAANKA SOMALILAND appears along the upper portion of the outer ring, with the denomination 10 SHILLINGS inscribed along the lower portion, all in raised Latin letters. |
