| Obverse description | Bimetallic coin with a brass centre displaying the arms of Somaliland: an eagle displayed supporting a set of scales of justice, with a clasped handshake motif below, all enclosed within a wreath of olive branches. The denomination numeral '10' appears at the base of the brass centre, straddling the boundary with the copper-nickel ring. The legend 'BAANKA SOMALILAND' arcs along the upper portion of the outer ring, while 'SHILIN 10 SHILLINGS' runs along the lower arc, all in Latin script. The outer ring is bordered by a fine beaded rim on both its inner and outer edges. |

Somaliland's bimetallic shilling coinage occupies an odd position in numismatics: the territory has operated as a self-declared independent republic since 1991 without receiving formal international recognition, meaning these coins function as genuine circulating currency domestically while remaining legally invisible to the outside world. The "Full leaves" designation distinguishes this die variety from related issues where the leaf detail on the acacia sprig is partially or fully flat — a minting inconsistency common across the series.
