Reverse description Central field features a finely detailed depiction of a galloping horse facing right, with flowing mane and tail, rendered in naturalistic style. Above the horse, the Chinese character '马' (meaning 'horse') is inscribed, with the Latin word 'HORSE' immediately below it. The upper arc bears the legend 'CHINESE TWELVE ZODIAC', while the date '2012' appears in the lower exergue flanked by two raised dots. A beaded border frames the entire reverse.

Additional information

Somaliland declared independence from Somalia in 1991 following the collapse of the Siad Barre regime, but has never received formal recognition from any United Nations member state. Its coinage is issued as a functioning domestic currency regardless — accepted locally, ignored internationally. The "Full leaves" designation distinguishes this variety from a reduced-detail die used in the same year, a split that collectors have documented but that circulated without distinction on the street.
