Obverse description An intaglio oval portrait vignette of King George VI in left-facing profile is set at the lower left, framed by fine guilloche lacework. The denomination 'TEN SHILLINGS' appears in bold letterpress across the centre, flanked by the numeral '10' in an ornate cartouche at right, with the value also rendered in Arabic and Gujarati scripts in a central panel. The issuer's title is inscribed in a scrollwork banderole at the top, with the legal tender clause, place of issue, and date printed below.
