Obverse lettering EAST AFRICAN CURRENCY BOARD TEN SHILLINGS LEGAL TENDER FOR TEN SHILLINGS MEMBERS OF EAST AFRICAN CURRENCY BOARD
Reverse description Printed entirely in green, the reverse is organised around an elaborate symmetrical vignette of two large stylised fan-shaped palm frond sprays tied at the base, flanking a circular unprinted watermark void at centre. A fine intaglio vignette of a flowering branch with blossoms and foliage appears above the tie point, while the numeral "10" is set in ornate cartouches at each of the four corners against a guilloche background.
