Reverse description Central field depicts a standing dog in high relief, rendered in a naturalistic style consistent with Chinese zodiac iconography, facing left with tail raised. To the right of the dog, a Chinese character for 'dog' (狗) appears in the field. The inscription 'DOG' is engraved below the central device, with the year '2000' in large numerals at the bottom. A circular border legend lists the twelve-year cycle years of the Chinese Year of the Dog: '1910·1922·1934·1946·1958·1970·1982·1994·2006'.
