Obverse description Draped bust of Queen Anne facing left, her hair elaborately dressed and pinned with an ornament at the back, with loose curls falling to the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the drapery at the truncation. The denomination mark 'IO' appears below the bust at the bottom of the field. The circular Latin legend reads ANNA · DEI · GRATIA · distributed around the periphery.

Reverse description A crowned quartered shield of arms occupies the centre of the reverse, displaying in the first and fourth quarters the lions of England impaled with the lion rampant of Scotland, in the second quarter the fleurs-de-lis of France, in the third quarter the harp of Ireland, and in the fourth quarter the lion rampant of Scotland. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown of elaborate design. The circular Latin legend around the periphery reads MAG · BRIT · FRA · ET · HIB · REG · with the date 1705 incorporated into the legend.
