Obverse description The Rock of Gibraltar is rendered in a finely engraved oval vignette at left, set within a guilloche border with the inscription "TEN SHILLINGS" along the lower arc. The upper portion carries the issuing authority legend in bold letterpress within an ornate frame, with the denomination repeated in each corner in numeral form "10/-"; the date, place of issue, and the Financial Secretary's signature appear in the lower centre-right, flanked by an elaborate guilloche rosette.
Obverse lettering ISSUED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF GIBRALTAR UNDER AUTHORITY OF THE CURRENCY NOTE ORDINANCE 1934. TEN SHILLINGS. CURRENCY NOTES ARE LEGAL TENDER IN GIBRALTAR FOR THE PAYMENT OF ANY AMOUNT. GIBRALTAR, FINANCIAL SECRETARY.
Reverse description The Gibraltar coat of arms occupies a central medallion, showing a three-towered castle above a suspended key on a shield, all enclosed within an elaborate guilloche surround. Two symmetrical side panels, each bearing the numeral "10" above the word "SHILLINGS" in a rectangular cartouche, flank the central vignette. A ribbon scroll below the shield carries the Latin motto, with the printer's imprint appearing at the foot of the note.
