Obverse description Green and orange note with a large intaglio vignette at left centre of a seated putto reclining against a cornucopia overflowing with fruit, set within an ornate guilloche border. The bank title 'THE NATIONAL BANK OF SOUTH AFRICA LIMITED' appears in bold letterpress across the upper centre, with the denomination '10/-' repeated in each corner within rosette medallions. The text 'RHODESIAN ISSUE' is printed at the top margin, the branch name 'SAINSBURY' overprinted in black, and the date '1st July, 1922' appears above the signatures of the Manager and Accountant; this example is a Specimen, punched with cancellation holes.
