Obverse description Black intaglio print over purple underprint; the central vignette presents an exterior perspective of the Ametsuchi-no-motohashira monument (八紘之基柱, also known as Hakkōichiu-no-tō 八紘一宇の塔) in Miyazaki, Japan, designed by HINAGO Jitsuzō, rendered with sunlight emanating from iridescent clouds on the left side. The Chrysanthemum Seal appears at top centre, with denomination numerals at all four corners; two red stamped circular seals appear at lower centre and lower right, with red block numbers at upper right and lower left.
