Obverse description Black intaglio on orange underprint. The red seal of the Minister of Finance appears at left, with the denomination in kanji script at centre and the numeral "10" at right. Inscriptions identify the note as a Great Imperial Japanese Government issue, with the issuing authority and the year of Taishō era noted below the central denomination.

Reverse description Printed in orange. The design is dominated by a large, elaborate guilloche rosette at centre, within which the counterfeit warning text is inscribed in vertical Japanese script. The denomination "拾錢" (Ten Sen) appears in kanji at both the top and bottom of the note, flanking the central guilloche.
