Obverse description Large draped bust of Charles Emmanuel II facing right, with flowing long curly hair characteristic of the late Baroque period, wearing armor partially covered by a draped mantle. The bold, high-relief effigy dominates the field. The Latin legend encircles the bust, with the date appearing at the end of the inscription near the lower right. A beaded inner border frames the entire design.

Reverse description Crowned baroque cartouche bearing a richly quartered coat of arms incorporating the multiple dynastic territories of the House of Savoy, with the central escutcheon displaying the plain cross of Savoy. The shield is set within an elaborate ornamental baroque frame and encircled by the chain of the Order of the Annunciation. The Latin legend, divided across the field, identifies the ruler's titles as Prince of Piedmont and King of Cyprus.
