Obverse description Central device depicting the coat of arms of the Imamate State of Oman (government in exile), comprising two crossed state flags on poles, each bearing a Quranic verse above a sword, surmounted by a crescent and a five-pointed star. Two crossed swords appear in base, flanking the shield. The Arabic legend "دَولة عُمَان" (State of Oman) arcs along the upper field, with "STATE OF OMAN" in Latin letters along the lower field. The Islamic date in Arabic (١٣٩١) appears to the right and the Gregorian date (1971) to the left; two small hallmark stamps in the lower field, the right bearing the fineness "925".

Reverse description A secretary bird (Sagittarius serpentarius) rendered in high relief, depicted standing in profile facing left with a coiled snake pinned beneath its talons, conveying the symbolic triumph of good over evil. The denomination "١٠ ريال" appears in Arabic numerals and script in the upper right field, with "10" and "RYALS" inscribed in Latin characters to the lower left of the central device.
