| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in shades of red and pink on a pale green guilloche underprint, with a central vignette of a wreath composed of stylized tropical flowers arranged in a circular garland around a pale oval field. Flanking the floral wreath on both sides are ornate decorative panels incorporating traditional Javanese kris daggers set within intricate scrollwork and geometric latticework patterns. The bank title BANK INDONESIA appears across the top, with the denomination SEPULUH RUPIAH to the right, two facsimile signatures of the Gubernur and Direktur at the foot, and the date DJAKARTA, 1 DJANARI 1959 at the centre bottom. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is executed in deep teal-green intaglio on a pale yellow-green underprint, centred on a large sun disc rising above a symmetrical landscape vignette in which two pairs of white cockatoos perch on branches facing inward from either side. Below the sun, an elaborate interlaced ornamental cartouche in the Javanese decorative tradition occupies the lower centre, flanked by dense tropical foliage. The denomination numeral 10 appears in white relief within dark panels at each lower corner, and a full anti-counterfeiting legal warning legend runs along the bottom margin in small letterpress text. |
