Issued in the lead-up to the 50th wedding anniversary commemorations surrounding Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, this piece belongs to a wave of Commonwealth-aligned commemorative silver struck by smaller island nations throughout the 1990s — a period when Seychelles and similar jurisdictions aggressively pursued collector revenue through licensed royal themes.
