| Obverse lettering | TEN YEAR NATIONAL PLAN CERTIFICATE FREE OF INDIAN INCOME TAX NOT TRANSFERABLE EXCEPT WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE COMPETENT POSTAL AUTHORITY 10 TEN RUPEES 10NP/ TEN RUPEES 10 This is to certify that XXXXXXXXXX is registered at the XXXXXXXXX Post Office as the holder of a Post Office 10 Year National Plan Certificate, issued in accordance with the terms of the Notification specified on the reverse, and subject to the Application of the Purchaser which shall be the basis of this Contract. The Government of India undertake to pay him, on presentation of this Certificate at the aforesaid Post Office on or after the XXXXXXXXX Rs. 14/8 or at any earlier date after the expiry of twelve months the sum not exceeding Rs. 14/8 specified on the reverse of this Certificate as due on such date. | Reverse description | Orange letterpress-printed reverse on white paper, headed RECEIPT ON DISCHARGE with the denomination 10 in each upper corner flanked by Ashoka column vignettes. The left half carries a tabular schedule of redemption values for the 10 Year Certificate at yearly intervals, with a notice NOT ENCASHABLE TILL END OF 12 MONTHS at foot. The right half provides a receipt block for signature or thumb impression of the holder. |
