| Obverse description | The obverse features the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, centrally positioned in the field, depicted with three lions facing outward atop an abacus bearing a Dharma Chakra (wheel) flanked by a bull and a horse in relief. The denomination '10 RUPEES' appears in large numerals along the lower right in Latin script, while the Devanagari legend 'भारत' and its Latin equivalent 'INDIA' are inscribed to the left and right respectively. The Devanagari legend 'रूपये' is rendered vertically to the lower left of the emblem. A mint mark appears at the base of the design near the lower rim. |
