| Obverse description | The obverse bears the full coat of arms of the Republic of Seychelles centrally placed in the field, featuring a shield supported by two marlins and surmounted by a white-tailed tropicbird, with a banner below inscribed with the national motto FINIS CORONAT OPUS. The legend REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2015 appears prominently in the lower field. The design is executed in high relief against a polished mirror field characteristic of proof coinage. |

| Additional information |
The Pamir was a German-owned four-masted barque, one of the last commercial sailing ships to round Cape Horn under sail — she did so for the final time in 1949. In 1957, she sank in Hurricane Carrie in the North Atlantic with the loss of 80 lives, most of them cadets on a training voyage. The disaster effectively ended Germany's era of sail training on deep-water square-riggers and prompted international reform of maritime training regulations.
