Obverse description The obverse displays a multi-line Persian/Urdu inscription in bold Nastaliq script divided across two registers by a horizontal line, occupying the entire field. The upper register bears the royal titles and honorifics of the issuing ruler, while the lower register carries the name and style of Maharaja Bhupindar Singh Bahadur. Decorative dot ornaments are interspersed between the lines, characteristic of Sikh princely state coinage of the early twentieth century. The date in Eastern Arabic numerals appears within the lower legend. The inscription is rendered in high relief against a smooth gold field.
