An Urdu legend in Nastaliq script arcs across the upper field, identifying the subject as 'Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto'. Additional Urdu inscriptions appear to the left in the field. The birth year '1953' is inscribed to the lower left and the year of death '2007' to the lower right of the portrait, commemorating her life.
