The Terek Republic was a short-lived Bolshevik-aligned entity carved out of the North Caucasus in 1918, surrounded almost immediately by Cossack and White Army forces. Its monetary emissions were emergency instruments — the central Soviet apparatus could not reliably supply currency to this isolated region, so local authorities printed their own. The P#S532 series was produced under genuinely chaotic conditions, and printing quality reflects that.
The republic itself collapsed by late 1919. Notes that survived did so largely by accident.
