| Obverse description | Black letterpress text on salmon-red underprint within a decorative square-link border. The issuer's name «СЛУЦКОЕ УѢЗДНОЕ ЗЕМСТВО» is printed at the top, with the denomination numeral «10» at each upper corner and inverted at the lower corners. The Slutsk Zemstvo notes of 1918 belong to the chaotic period of local emergency issuance that followed the collapse of tsarist monetary infrastructure and the subsequent German occupation of Belarusian territory. With Bolshevik authority non-existent and supply lines severed, district-level zemstvo bodies across the region resorted to printing their own scrip simply to pay workers and conduct basic commerce.
The handstamp authentication on this note is not decorative — it was the only available safeguard against counterfeiting when formal security printing was impossible. Validation stamps varied between issues, making unlisted varieties a genuine possibility within this series.
