Obverse description At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after Ivan Bilibin's design occupies the field. A beaded circle frames the central device, within which the semicircular legend БАНК РОССИИ (BANK OF RUSSIA) curves below the eagle. Along the upper rim runs the denomination legend ДЕСЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ (TEN ROUBLES), while the date 1999 appears along the lower rim. To the left of the central device, the metal purity designation Au 999 is inscribed, and to the right, the fine metal content 1.555 g and the Moscow Mint monogram ММД are indicated.

Reverse description The reverse depicts a figure of the knight Jean de Brienne, the principal character from Alexander Glazunov's ballet Raymonda, rendered in a detailed representational style appropriate to the commemorative series. The figure dominates the central field in a dynamic pose evoking the theatrical character. Along the lower rim, the Cyrillic inscription РАЙМОНДА (RAYMONDA) curves in a semicircular legend identifying the subject of the issue.
