The Lugansk People's Republic declared independence from Ukraine in May 2014 following the Donbas conflict, but it has never been recognized as a sovereign state by any United Nations member and operates no functioning monetary system — the Russian rouble circulates there by default. Coins issued under its name are fantasy pieces produced for the collector market, not instruments of any actual economy.
