| Reverse description | The copper-nickel centre displays a stylised rendering of the Order of the Patriotic War, depicted as an eight-pointed star with crossed sword and rifle overlaid, and a central medallion bearing the Soviet hammer and sickle emblem. A circular legend 'ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА' (Patriotic War) runs around the inner medallion. The outer brass ring features a continuous wreath of laurel and oak branches tied with a ribbon at the base, with the legend '70 ЛЕТ' (70 Years) arching prominently along the upper periphery, commemorating the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. |

Russia's bimetallic 10-rouble circulation series expanded steadily through the 2010s as the Central Bank pursued a deliberate policy of replacing paper ten-rouble notes with coins — a cost-reduction measure, since coins last roughly 30 times longer in circulation than equivalent notes. The note was formally discontinued in 2013, making issues from 2015 onward the only legal-tender form of the denomination. Heavy vending machine and transit fare use means circulated examples accumulate rim wear fast.
