| Reverse description | The reverse features a large, boldly modelled right-facing bust of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, truncated at the shoulder, occupying the majority of the field. The denomination '10 RIYALS' is inscribed in the left field, with the denomination numeral positioned above the word 'RIYALS'. The name 'LENIN·' appears in large capital letters along the lower portion of the field beneath the bust, with a five-pointed star in the lower exergue. A small engraver's initial 'G' is visible near the truncation of the bust. |

Ajman, smallest of the Trucial States with a population under 5,000 at the time, had essentially no monetary infrastructure of its own — its coins were issued almost entirely for the international collector market rather than circulation. This piece, one of a flood of commemorative issues Ajman produced in 1969–1970 before UAE federation rendered the series obsolete, honors Lenin in the centenary year of his birth. The choice was commercially calculated: Soviet-themed numismatic issues sold briskly in European collector markets at the time.
