| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of the Yemen Arab Republic occupies the central field, depicting a spread eagle with wings outstretched, its breast bearing a shield charged with a coffee plant flanked by crossed jambiya daggers and a dam; the eagle holds a scroll inscribed with the state name in Arabic. The Arabic legend and denomination '١٠ ريالات' appear in the upper field, with the Hijri date '١٣٩٥' to the right and the Gregorian date '1975' to the left in the middle field.
