Obverse description Central field displays the coat of arms of the Republic of New Granada, depicting a shield divided into three sections: an upper section featuring a condor with outstretched wings atop the shield, a middle section with a pomegranate, and a lower section depicting an isthmus with sea on both sides and a ship. The shield is flanked by two cornucopias. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE LA NUEVA GRANADA arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1851 inscribed at the base of the coin between two small ornamental stops, all within a reeded border.
