Reverse description Printed entirely in dark red, the reverse centres on an intaglio vignette of a multi-arched stone bridge with a volcanic mountain rising behind it. The bank title arches across the top within an ornate guilloche border, while numeral counters in elaborate lathe-work medallions appear at left and right, and the denomination tablet is set at the foot of the design. The printer's imprint "WATERLOW & SONS LIMITED LONDRES" appears in small text below the central vignette.
