Obverse description Uniformed effigy of King Farouk I facing left, wearing a traditional tarboosh (fez), with elaborately decorated military dress visible at the truncation, including epaulettes and ornate tasseled insignia. The engraver's initials 'PM' (Percy Metcalfe) appear at the lower right of the truncation. Arabic legend flanks the portrait in two vertical columns, reading right to left across the field. The design is framed by a fine beaded inner border.

The wreath is rendered in fine relief and framed by a beaded border along the rim.
