Reverse description Plain field bearing a three-line Arabic inscription centrally arranged. The regnal year '٢٣' (23, denoting the 23rd year of Abdul Hamid II's reign) appears in the upper right, followed by the mint formula 'ضرب في مصر' (Struck in Egypt) across the centre. The Hijri accession year '١٢٩٣' (1293 AH) is inscribed along the lower portion of the field. The composition is unadorned, with no border ornamentation, reflecting the restrained aesthetic of late Ottoman-Egyptian gold issues.
