| Obverse description | Central device depicts a camel postman advancing to the right, the rider holding a lance or staff upright in his right hand with additional spears or lances visible behind him, set against a desert landscape with rocky outcroppings in the background. The composition conveys the traditional Sudanese postal courier motif, a hallmark of the Republic of Sudan's first coinage series. Below the central device, in the lower portion of the field, a dual-date legend appears in Arabic numerals reading the Hijri year 1376 and the Gregorian year 1956, separated by a dash. The coin is struck with a reeded border running along the full circumference. |
