| Obverse description | Mature, diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, with finely detailed hair adorned by a jewelled diadem. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation. The circumferential legend reads 'ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF JERSEY' with the date '2003' at lower right, all rendered in gold-plated lettering against a deeply mirrored proof field. The portrait is presented in high relief, characteristic of Rank-Broadley's fourth definitive effigy. |

Jersey's Golden Jubilee issue appeared a year after the 2002 celebrations, timed instead to coincide with the Coronation's 50th anniversary in June 2003. The delay gave the States of Jersey room to issue a second commemorative cycle from the same jubilee period — a not uncommon strategy among Crown Dependencies looking to maximize a popular reign milestone across multiple product lines.
Gold-plated silver at this size is a format that tends to age poorly; the plating on high-relief contact points wears through within years of handling.
