Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted as a right-facing crowned bust with naturalistically rendered hair and wearing a tiara. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation of the neck. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II D G REG FID DEF, with the denomination 10 POUNDS incorporated into the lower portion of the circular inscription.
