Additional information

The Tudor Dragon entered the Royal Mint's bullion program as part of the "King's Beasts" continuation series, building on the heraldic beast coinage that proved commercially dominant during the Queen's Beasts run between 2017 and 2022. The dragon specifically derives from the red dragon badge used by Henry VII to assert his Welsh lineage and legitimacy after Bosworth — a deliberate dynastic signal, not mere decoration.

At .9999 fineness, this issue is struck to a higher purity than the original Queen's Beasts ten-ounce pieces, which were .9999 in some years but inconsistently so across the run.
